Kiyomizu-dera, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of Kyoto’s most celebrated temples. Famous for its wooden stage that juts out from the main hall, the temple offers stunning views of cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant autumn foliage. Built in 778, the temple is dedicated to the goddess Kannon and is known for its architecture, which is constructed without the use of nails. The Otowa Waterfall at the base of the temple is also a popular spot where visitors can drink from the three streams, each said to bring longevity, success, and love.

The surrounding streets, lined with traditional shops selling souvenirs, sweets, and crafts, add to the vibrant atmosphere. The temple is especially enchanting in the evening during the special light-up events held in spring and autumn.
